don't you just love it when you're reading a book and a great sentence just stops you in your tracks, you put the book down and savour the words. well, these were the words that did that to me...
"She'd lain on her side, the easel also knocked on it's side. It was as though she were dancing with it and they'd tripped over together." nam le.
i just love it! although the scene is a very tragic one, (she had fainted) i think the contrast of that absurd thought is what makes it great.
this is taken from 'the boat' by nam le. next on my book to read list is 'Julie and Julia' by Julie Powell. loved the movie!
